Can I proactively text patrons?

SMS messages can be initiated by the operator from our 3mail module which is part of every LibraryH3lp subscription.  3mail has a simple "CREATE SMS" feature.  When guests reply, they would get handled through chat like usual. If you are currently using 3mail on another queue and would like to enable it on your texting queue as well, please email us with the name of your texting queue and we will enable it for you.  

If you are not currently using 3mail, you can enabled it for your texting queue via the webclient or the standalone 3mail app.  

  1. To enable 3mail from the webclient, click on the envelope icon on the left sidebar or use your regional URL referenced in the above hyperlink.
     
  2. From the 'Welcome to 3mail' screen click on the ENABLE 3MAIL bar at the bottom. 
     
  3. Select your texting queue from the drop down menu and then click on the blue ENABLE 3MAIL button.


To proactively text patrons, click on the CREATE SMS button located on the top left:
