Now that you have decided to add texting to your current LibraryH3lp chat service, the next step is to decide what type of number you would like, local or toll-free. The chart below offers a comparison of both to help you decide.

 
Local number Toll-free number
Local number in your area code. Toll-free number with the ability to customize the last 3-4 digits for a vanity number. Example: 888-XXX-4HLP
For customers that text with guests located in the US, there is a one-time regulatory registration fee of $19. No setup fee
Monthly number maintenance fee $2/mo. Monthly number maintenance fee $3/mo.
Monthly regulatory fee $2/mo. No monthly regulatory fee.
Cost per each text message (sent and received) $0.03 cents (three cents) Cost per each text message (sent and received) $0.03 cents (three cents)
Needed for registration:
  • Your organization’s W-9
  • Public URL or PDF for your organization’s Privacy Policy which must include a disclaimer that no mobile opt-in will be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Public URL or PDF for your organization’s Terms of Service must have an SMS disclosure that includes the brand name, types of messages consumers can expect to receive, message frequency disclosure, “message and data may apply” disclosure, privacy policy links, and opt-out instructions.
 No registration needed.
