Can I forward email to 3mail so that the email address comes from MY domain?

Yes, forwarding from an established email account is possible. You would configure the established email account to forward email to your LibraryH3lp mailbox address, which is the same as the queue's XMPP/Jabber ID.

If desired, LibraryH3lp support can update your mailbox by request to use the established email account's identity, so that emails sent from 3mail will appear to come from the established account.

SPF and DKIM setup

Setting up both SPF and DKIM is recommended.

To setup SPF so that we can send mail for your domain, you need to create an SPF record for your domain (mylibrary.edu in the example below).  This is a DNS TXT record that looks like this:

mylibrary.edu. TXT "v=spf1 include:libraryh3lp.com -all"

How you do it depends on your software, etc.  If you have an existing SPF record, just add the "include:libraryh3lp.com" somewhere before the "-all".

To setup DKIM so that we can send mail for your domain (mylibrary.edu in the example below), you need to create a DKIM record for your domain.  This is a DNS TXT record that looks like this:

libraryh3lp._domainkey.mylibrary.edu. TXT "v=DKIM1; k=rsa; ...(lots of gobbledygook)"

You will need to contact us (support@libraryh3lp.com) for a signing key for your domain (that's the gobbledygook part), in order to complete this step.

You may have an existing DKIM record for your domain (mylibrary.edu in the example below), that will be named:

somethingelse._domainkey.mylibrary.edu

You do not edit the existing record, the new record can exist alongside it.

DMARC?

If you use DMARC, the SPF record is required.  If you do not use DMARC, neither is required, but still recommended. If you do not know if you use DMARC, we can look that up for you.
