How do I use a custom presence theme for my chat boxes?

A guest viewing a chat box will see status changes in the typing area and also in the provided presence theme icon, usually located in the top left corner of the chat box. There are many presence theme options available.

Available and Away status in the Gota and SimpleText presence themes. Also note away status in the chat box's transcript and typing areas.

Best practices

  • Images are best set with a transparent background.  Background color for the top area of the chat box can easily be set to any desired color using a hex code.  This way, the background color is set only once, and the styling will stay set consistently as the chat box changes size.
  • Customer-specific branding is nearly always best left out of the presence theme.  A separate logo image can be provided, also with a transparent background color.  This logo image can be seamlessly placed next to your custom presence theme so that the theme and the logo will look like a single image.  This way, other customers will be able to take advantage of your custom theme if they wish to do so.

Creating New Themes:

Please send theme requests to support@libraryh3lp.com.

  • I want text-based icons with custom wording/language. Send us wording/translations for each of the 6 possible statuses - Available, Chatty (also known as "Free for Chat"), Busy, Away, Extended Away, and Unavailable. We'll take care of rest. E.g. available simpletext icon or available French-Canadian simpletext icon
  • I want to use my own images. Send us png or gif images for the six statuses mentioned above. Images can be of any dimension but must be internally consistent in width and height.
